PHP is famous for its ability to build web sites, but it also a flexible tool that can be called by RPG and CL programs. Alan will show how to accomplish marvelous tasks by calling PHP from ordinary RPG and CL programs.

Examples will include:
  • Creating graphs and charts based on DB2 data.
  • Beautifully formatted Excel spreadsheets from your data.
  • Formatted PDF files from your data.
  • Send flexible email messages, including HTML format and attachments, and using any SMTP server, including an Exchange server.
  • Receive information back from a PHP script into RPG or CL.

    Alan Seiden, an authority on PHP development with IBM i, helps his clients achieve best practices and top performance when combining PHP, Zend Framework, IBM i, RPG, and DB2.
