FASUG Summer June Boat Trip to Sheffield Island

Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2008 (rain or shine)
Time: 6:00 to 9:30 P.M.
WE START BOARDING at 5:30
Location: The ferry departs from the Norwalk Seaport Association’s dock, adjacent to the Stroffolino Bridge at the corner of Washington and Water Streets in South Norwalk, CT.We will meet under the gazebo at the dock.
Directions: Norwalk Seaport Association’s dock
Parking: There is a small lot in front of the dock. If that is full, there is a parking garage directly across from the Aquarium on North Water Street.
Cost: Members $40 per person. Non-members add $15.
The June Boat Trip to Sheffield Island

Please join us for a leisurely cruise to historic Sheffield Island aboard the G.W. Tyler, a 42-foot passenger vessel sailing from South Norwalk.

Our trip to the island will include a narrative tour of the harbor and panoramic views of Long Island Sound.

Once we arrive on Sheffield Island we will be treated to a tour of the lighthouse and dinner outdoors under the tent.

There will be time before dinner to explore the nature trail in the Stewart B. McKinney Wildlife Refuge, or to just sit, have a drink and admire the beautiful views across the water. Be sure to bring your binoculars and camera!

When you register, please choose what you want for dinner for your main course. If nothing chosen, you will have Lobster. You can enter what you want in the additional name area. Beer, Wine, and softdrinks will be provided. Dinner menu is:

  • Mixed field Green Salad
  • Steamer bag- a bag of steamed clams, mussels & corn on the cob with lemons and drawn butter

Main Course is a choice of:

  • BBQ Steak, Fish or Chicken
  • Lobster (Additional $15)
In addition to:
  • Grilled Potato "chips"
  • Classic Cole Slaw
  • Grilled Summer Squash with fresh thyme
  • Summer Strawberry Shortbread cake fresh summer berries with sugared biscuit shortbread and cream
The evening concludes with a twilight cruise back to port.
