Track A Session 4

Migrating from Novell and NT to Linux
Carson Soule

Migrating from Novell and NT to Linux
Migrating from Novell and NT to Linux servers requires both a business case and a technical plan. In this session, CAS shares its experiences in making this conversion. Business motivation, technical hurdles, user experience and cost savings are reviewed. File, print, directory, DNS, DHCP, firewall, routing and network management have been switched to Linux/Samba. See how our plan to be Novell- and NT-free in 2003 is progressing and why our users and management are so excited.
