Using an RPG Driver Program
Ron Harvey

Using an RPG Driver Program
Using a driver program combined with a standard parameter list in an on-line environment provides many benefits to programmers as well as users: no recursive calling issues ever; create dynamic menus that let a user call any program from any other; program with a single keystroke; NO additional program modifications; create a new program and make it available as a call to all other programs simply by DBUing a database file; effortlessly include program to program security authorization, user information and preferences (i.e. department, workstation, preferred outqs, etc.). And much more! Come and learn how to use this simple yet extremely powerful technique. By the end of this session, attendees will be able to: write a driver program; forget recursive calls were ever an issue; do all program call security and user preferences in a single program.
