Introduction to SQL on the iSeries and AS/400
SQL was invented and developed by IBM and is now the industry standard relational database language. It can be used not only to query data, but also for data definition, manipulation, and control and is the key to understanding data retrieval in the database server environment. SQL is simple to use and is an extremely powerful database and application development tool. This session will provide an overview of SQL concepts on the AS/400 and iSeries and discuss the use of SQL for querying, data retrieval, and database creation and management. It will also provide an overview of interactive SQL and embedding SQL in application programs.
