System Audit Journal Uncovered
There is a relatively unknown object out there called the System Audit Journal - that can provide a lot of valuable information to your shop. This session will cover the basics behind the system audit journal such as what it is, how it can be turned on, how to manage it and what information it can provide. It will also provide some sample code for analyzing the information that is in the system audit journal. By the end of this session, attendees will be able to: Turn on system auditing and manage the journal, and Analyze the information in the audit journal.

Russ Popeil   is a Senior Product Specialist for DataMirror an IBM business partner specializing in High Availability Software. He has over 19 years experience on the IBM midrange platform. He is President of the Long Island Systems Users Group and a frequent speaker at Common, and other local user groups. He is the author of the book “RPG Error Handling technique, bulletproofing your applications”. He has also written many articles for News/400 and Midrange Computer Magazines. He is an IBM Certified Solutions Expert, an IBM Certified RPGIV Developer, and a member of IBM’s certification test writing team. He is also on the IBM Toronto language labs RPG advisory council, and a member of the IBM/JDE competency center advisory team.
