Track D Session 3
Intro to Linux
John Brown

Intro to Linux
This session will provide an overview of the increasingly popular Linux operating system. It will show how Linux can fit in an AS/400 environment as a desktop operating system or as a network server. Whether your goal is to make your workplace "Microsoft Free" or just take advantage of some of the newest open source software, this is the session for you.

John Brown   has been programming midrange systems sine 1987. Much of that time has been spent getting PC's and UNIX systems to co-exist with the AS/400 whether they wanted to or not. He has worked in numerous companies from one man shops up to multi-national corporations. He is currently an Independent Consultant and Vice-president of the Fairfield CT AS/400 User Group (FASUG).
